The 11th Asia-Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumour Society Meeting is a timely event for the medical community in this region. It has been more than a decade since such a significant meeting of this type has been organised in Singapore. It is due to the efforts of the APMTS President, Dr. Suresh Nathan and his team that make this possible. I congratulate them for meeting the challenge of organising this large and comprehensive conference for both local and overseas medical professionals. The Singapore Orthopaedic Association is honoured to support this meeting dedicated to musculo-skeletal tumours. It is an opportunity for Singapore surgeons, residents and trainees to find out what is current and new in tumour management and surgery. Hopefully, young surgeons in this part of the world will be inspired to specialise in this demanding field of work. This, I believe, would be an excellent outcome for the meeting in 2016 and I wish the APMSTS all the best for a successful and stimulating event.

Musculoskeletal oncology represents a dramatic branch of medicine with multidisciplinary contributions from Orthopaedic Oncology, Medical oncology, Radiation Oncology, Paediatrics, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and their allied supporting teams. Being one of the few centres in the region that is able to provide these services under one roof, Mount Elizabeth is proud to be associated with the upcoming Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society meeting in 2016. Prof Suresh Nathan has put together a stellar team of specialists who have each achieved distinction in their respective areas and we will continue to strive to support the emerging technologies in the field that will be featured in this meeting.
